I have a 23 GT non-PE, 12,000 miles. About two weeks ago I noticed a loud thud from the rear right when going over bumps. A good example is going slow over a speed bump. After I'm over the bump and coming down, there's a loud noise, a dull but obvious thud. I looked under the right rear wheel area and noticed oil all over the shock. The left one is clean.

Could this be what's causing the noise? I haven't noticed a change in ride performance because, let's face it, it already feels like there are no shocks. :)

If it IS bad, does anyone know if this would be covered by warranty after only 12k miles?

Thanks Efthreeoh, do you have an idea if this would be causing the noise?

Oil leaking out of a shock is never a good sign for that shock. Highly likely there is mechanical damage inside due to lack of fluid. ??

Yes that is covered by the bumper to bumper warranty.
