In talking to the sales manager, I was told my original order (‘22 CR1) should be shipping soon. It was built in December or January but must have gone into chip hold purgatory. I could still get it at price protected original quote. My updated order ‘22 Premium is still on order with no build date. Hoping for scheduling today, but so is everyone else. DH and I decided we want it for the summer anyway and even if scheduled for May it likely wouldn’t get here until fall. So we’re getting the CR1 and we’ll keep the option on the Premium and assess our options then. The excitement increases.

Yes. So how do you like your Cali? Are seats comfortable?

I love our CA Rt. 1.
It was the most comfortable ride across the Arizona and California deserts (~1100 mile round trip) that I've ever done.

I do like it a lot, and I found the seats comfortable for our 1600 mile trip back and forth to florida, as did my wife. With the auto lane centering and adaptive cruise control the drive was easy; can't wait to step up to handsfree bluecruise.

The only 2 things I wish I had were AWD and heated seats; the AWD for the acceleration and the heated seats because I am a baby. I did get an aftermarket heated seat cover which worked OK, but it isn't the most awesome looking alternative. I took the aero covers off because I am not a fan of the plasticky look.

I am still very definitely happy with the car I have, and my wife's happy with the $2200 savings. If I could have gotten an AWD CR1 I absolutely would have, but she's still a great car.

I love the addition of the AWD, heated seats (and steering wheel), and BlueCruise for our 2022 model year.

Yeah, the downside of being an early adopter was Ford adding those goodies to the '22. On the plus side at the time I got my car NJ had a $5000 EV rebate program which I did qualify for, so in the end I am happy.

The CAR1 is ER AWD with heated seats. Maybe I’ll be okay!
