iOS 26 CarPlay on Mach-E

Just wanted to share some photos of how the CarPlay changes look on the Mach-E with iOS 26.

Does CarPlay now work accurately with ABRP without an OBD2 adapter?

I solved the flaky connection to Carplay with a new phone and Android Auto. Much superior connection, zero lost connections, and better layout. Preconditioning today and zero regrets. Never thought it would be Carplay to get me back to Android but there you go.

I personally can’t speak on this topic because I very rarely use wireless CarPlay. Usually when I’m in my car, it’s a force of habit to plug it in so 99% of the time I use wired CarPlay which doesn’t in my experience have the issues people have mentioned.

There is an option for smart display zoom that changes the layout to make better use of the size of the screen.

The main screen for music has more of a desktop experience look I guess? Have playlists pinned at top and center little I fiddled with it I like it. Like the optimized screen as well. Bout time maps screen is bigger while shrinking the box for music and next turn down some. (When having 3 things on screen at once)

here is a quick view of the map from my drive this morning. The big change that I am happy with is I can now see arrival, time left, and miles left with the car connection enabled. Before it would only show arrival and battery %, so I always turned off the car connection in maps.

This is sounding a little better. Having half the screen dedicated to the Now Playing and the temperature was absolutely ridiculous. Maps should be 90% of the screen and now playing should be 10%. Don’t need the album art. It provided no value, just wasted screen space.
Really wish @Ford could pull the now playing info into the drivers screen above the steering wheel as well.

Also there is now widgets with CarPlay so will post more photos once I play around with that.

Not in the car currently as above I will post a photo when I am back in it but you set it up on the phone. A clock widget at the top and two stacks you customise on the phone in car play settings.
