I started coasting out of necessity since I knew from my stick-shift days that you could conserve fuel in neutral and it's saved my bacon many times. Especially since I have a hilly commute and can add 5 to 7 mi to my range since I don't use any charge.

I'm addicted to it now ?

I think so, just because engine braking is very similar to regen braking. I made almost no change to my driving style, at least as far as following distance and braking points are concerned.
Somewhat... 1pd is actually more like in a manual if you downshift from 5 to 2 or 4 to 1, it's painful.

In a manual if you are in your highest overdrive gear and release the gas pedal, you get a slight engine breaking, which 2pd in a Mach E delightfully mimics.

So I'm in the "somewhat agree with conditions" camp on your claim.

I still don't understand the coasting thing- I never just rolled along with the clutch in, either. Never saw the point.
Never???? And never shifted out of gear into neutral, particularly in slow moving traffic jams? Ouch your right leg muscles must be gigantic, and I'm sure the engine lugging must have been horrible.
