Thought I'd start a thread for us in the PNW to post any road trip considerations regarding charging stations along the major highways like I-90 and I-5.

For example I'm taking a trip from Seattle to CDA Idaho in October and trying to figure out charging along I-90. Any charging stations that are better than others or spots to avoid because they never work or don't have enough plugs?

I know there are stretches on these highways where we need to charge and the navigation doesn't tell the whole story.

Perhaps take a look at plugshare.com which has chargers from many networks and reviews/checkins from actual users. It also has lots of filters for plug type, power, and can even help locate hotels with L2 chargers. It is crowdsourced so not necessarily complete, but is a pretty good reference nonetheless

I have plugshare, a better route planner, and 3 other charging station apps. Google maps also now includes individual chargers and sometimes the status of individual plugs as well (you pull up an area and search for ev chargers, or search for ev chargers near me/location/etc). I was hoping for a little more realtime MME experience especially with DCFC along major routes where they are very scarce (like along I-90 where there are like 4 total between Seattle and the Idaho border). They're on the map but far enough apart that if one is out and you're relying on it, then you could be screwed on a road trip across the state.

Like is the Ellensburg Taco Bell DCFC good? I've heard from several people who said only one plug works there and it's often not available despite with the apps say.
