I get solid charge rates on Tesla. I have not run into the issue you're describing. Most of my Tesla charging has been charging our Lightning and it charges very quickly on Tesla chargers.2022 MME ER. I’ve charged at Tesla stations twice now. Both 250kw stations in different cities. The charge rates seemed poor to me. In both cases I started between 50-60% SOC and my maximum rate was below 80kw and dropped to around 65kw in a few minutes. At the 150kw CCS chargers I get over 100kw (up to 135kw) up to about 75% and around 90kw to 80%.
I am wondering if others see lower charge rates at Tesla vs.a good CCS charger as well.
Same for us we have been on multiple road trips the past 2 months and used exclusively Tesla SC except once and they always work 100% of the time I have seen rates well over the 150kw limit (171 in one case) and 13-20 average time spent has gotten me to 80% in reasonable time. The one time we used the brand new GM/EVgo gathers this past weekend it worked well but never saw a peak over 150kw. Super happy with Tesla SC and locations.I get solid charge rates on Tesla. I will say that by the time I got to around 50% SOC the charge rate was already down to about 80kw which it held to around 75%. I think it follows the same charge curve shape but at a slightly lower kwDuring my last charge event, the stations were about 1/2 full and charging so I doubt capacity was the issue. During my first charge event, there was only one other car at the 10 unit charge station so that definitely wasn't a capacity issue. Given we cannot use V2 stations, that can't be the issue either.
