I wanted the phone holder arm on the AOSK Phone Holder Tray to angle down. A clever modification used by another Forum member didn't allow for a secure enough connection that I was looking for. So I downloaded AOSK's 3D print file for their phone holder (note: the 3D model is not the same as the arms that ship with the tray). I used a third party phone holder because the ASOK holder requires two hands to operate. I modified the original arm and made a short and longer version. When my wife returns with the car I'll show the phone mounted to the tray.

Nice work!

Somehow I lost the arm on mine. I don't understand how someone could lose something that never leaves the car, but I did.

BTW, Don't use PLA filament. the sun softened it and the weight of the phone twisted the arm. PETG works fine.

Good job!
Could you post a 3D model of that arm. Also where did you get that holder?

BTW. I'm actually not using the holder for my phone. I'm using it for my CarScanner "dashboard"

Yeah, I saw your pots about the arm and the CarScanner. In fact that's what gave me the idea. If you are talking about the 3D print file, I can't attach it here. You can PM me with you email and I'll send it along. I just added two small fans and two micro solar panels to the AOSK tray in an effort to reduce the heat on the SYNC panel. It is almost too hot to tuch when the sun is beating through the windshield. I'll post pictures later.

Here's the link for the holder but it is currently out of stock. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09P9TQ3Y7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you for the link. Why don't you use a sun shield to reduce the temperature inside?

would be great if a down position was available as an option from aosk. i use a mag-safe holder/charger with my aosk tray and having it a couple inches lower is my only nit-pick. would put it by the airvents which would help keep the phone cool too, while charging

@Old_Norm can you share the STL file so others can print it too? I have a 3D printer and like your design.

This site won't let me post stl files in a thread. If you PM me your email I'll send them to you.
