I don’t know… blindfolded, I bet most people couldn’t tell the difference between a 3.4 sec 0-60 and a 4.8 sec 0-60, if you gave both cars a 7 second pull.

Nah. 4.8 is "this is pretty quick" territory. 3.5 is involuntary gasping territory. 3.5 seconds is nearly 40% more average g force than 4.8, if you don't notice that then you got problems.
