I am seeing people start posting how MME performs in a heat and the experience they have its not great. I am still waiting for production date but i live in Arizona where the temperatures are above 100 F most of the time. Is there anybody with MME in Arizona in this forum who can share some summer experience. I was so excited but now i am wondering if i can rely on this car.

What people and where? I can only think of one user on here, @macchiaz-o, that occasionally experienced some drive mode availability issues last summer.

Not sure what you are hearing. Can you reference a thread or two please?

So far my MME has not experienced any issues related to the AZ heat. In fact, it performs better than any other vehicle I have ever owned (with the Focus Electric a close second). The panoramic roof isn't even an issue (like I originally feared it might be...).

Excellent warm weather vehicle actually...

That being said...
I do wish Ford would allow the vehicle to cool the battery while parked on plug outside the charge schedule. That really isn't a performance thing though.....that is just a programming choice they made (either deliberately or by accident). ?

I saw 3 threads here people mention the car loosing range when left on the sun. Also another person posted a photo of the car wanted to be plugged because of high heat. A guy reported his car shut down from charging in his garage because of the high temperature .I also checked some Tesla drivers, even one guy on youtube tried to go to Death Valley and the car lost about 25 miles just parked, battery overheated and didnt let him drive faster than 65 mph.
I love the car and dont want to cancel my order but in the same time i dont want to have a bad surprise once i bring it home.
I will be using mostly fast chargers because i live in apartment and also the car will be parked outside on sun while i am working. Do you think this will work for me and everything will be fine with the range and also the battery health ? Forgot to tell you guys my MME will be PR AWD but standart range battery.

The best thing to do with the mache in extreme weather, hot or cold is to leave it on when not plugged in. It well keep the battery at good temps. The worst thing to do is park over hot hot asphalt.

The included Ford charger will shut down in high heat, not the car.
The car will show a message advising you to plug it in when it is hot. It is not mandatory by any means.
There is a slight range reduction on the hottest days. That is simply battery chemistry. It is nowhere near what you read about in cold weather.
I would spend more time thinking about your charging strategy than worrying about the heat.

That sounds good. I know my charging will be the biggest problem but i calculated with my driving have to charge the car 2 times per week as longer the car holds closer to the 210 miles range.
I live next to Arrowhead mall so my closest good charger is Walmart.

There are chargers at the mall, too. I believe they are L2 though. Have you used PlugShare to investigate options? An L2 charger near your gym, or grocery store, or (insert place you routinely spend time), could be useful. Any chance of convincing your employer to install a charger? There are some pretty decent incentives available to them.

Yes i have PlugShare, Blink, Electrify America, EVgo and Volta installed. The ones at the mall i dont think i can leave the car overnight. I will talk to my employee to see what he gonna say but once they give me a production date .

There is one EVGO charger at Arrowhead, 50kw, 1 hour limit. I have two EVs, Bolt and Mach E, both get good range in the summer, even with the AC running. They also start fast charging right up to the limits in the heat, as long as the chargers do not have the cable chillers broken. Be aware the ABB chargers are notorious for bad cable chillers. The ones at the Walmart near Arrowhead are ABB, The ones at Camelback and 101 Walmart are Signet and those are much more reliable.

I have never actually charged my Mach E is cold weather, but in January of 2021, I charged the Bolt in Flagstaff with temps in the 30s, and it started out at only 40kw, before ramping up to 55kw after a few minutes. I have fast charged the Bolt in 100+ temps many times and it never throttled the charging due to being too hot.

A month after I got my Mach E, and was driving on I-10, I got the warning to stop now, there was a power issue. This happened right as I exited the freeway and the car never did shut off. I was going to a Target and parked the car, came out and it started up and never did it again. That was on a hot July day. I think that was an early software bug that got fixed by one of the OTAs.

I do have this roof shade for in the summer, I have it off right now, but will likely put it back on in May. It does make a difference if the car is parked in the sun all day.

Get ChargePoint, they have a lot of L2 chargers in the Phoenix area, and APS is installing some of them as well. Blink is pretty worthless, all there chargers are really old and most are broken.
