No idea if this is specific to my phone (Samsung Z-Flip3, Android 12, Android Auto 8.0.623354), or a SYNC thing, so thought I'd post and see if anyone else gets the same things.

Spotify: My kids' school is in a bit of a dead zone for cell service. Spotify will keep playing songs through the zone, but if I try to change playlists (like switching from annoying kid's music to annoying news programs after drop off) it says "Can't Connect" or Offline, something like that. Usually won't pick back up again until 20 minutes later when I'm almost home. However, when I open Spotify on my phone and change the station, it works just fine - only the SYNC-initiated change causes the problem. Not sure when this started, might have always been that way, but I haven't noticed because the only time I use Spotify is in the car, and except for the drop off change I rarely change anything.

Google Maps - This just started in the past couple of weeks. When I open Google Maps on screen, it doesn't pick up my location, even after 15-20 minutes (longest I've let it sit so far). But, if I open the phone and try to open Google Maps, it says it can't open because it's on screen, and then my location magically appears on screen.

No idea if other apps have similar problems - I have been known to forget to turn on the radio for months at a time in prior cars with better engine soundtracks, but it seems like SYNC is having a hard time calling functions from the phone.

Anyone else see anything like this, or have a fix? It's annoying, more than anything else, though it has pushed me to use the Ford navigation more, which I kind of like - the blue range perimeter is cool.

On a different vehicle I've had the android Auto issue where it won't let open maps on your phone when it's being used by AA. That specific part might be an AA bug. I can't speak to anything else though.

I think that's a safety feature, so you don't look at maps on your phone while driving. I note it mostly because it seems to make Maps wake up, which the car doesn't seem to be able to do.
