Hello all, my name is Jeff! I just purchased a 2021 GT Performance! In Cyber Orange!

I am not new to EV, I am actually certified (at another manufacture) to repair EV systems.
Getting information on the chemical makeup of the battery, and what are the recommended charging intervals, also maintenance requirements are all hard to answer without the manual, I purchased the car as the second owner, so most if these things are or were not explained properly to me.
My questions are:

1 what is the chemical makeup of the battery?
2 what does ford recommend charging to on a daily basis?
3 are there any Maintenace requirements for the electric motors, and battery?
4 do these vehicle come with the ford portable charger that has both 110v and 220v plugs?

Thanks in Advance

Hey there! Congrats on your New-To-You GTPE and welcome to the forum! You will be able to find the owners manual on the center screen on the Apps tab.

1 what is the chemical makeup of the battery? - NCM

2 what does ford recommend charging to on a daily basis? 90% per the manual.

3 are there any Maintenace requirements for the electric motors, and battery? The manual will tell you the maintenance intervals.

4 do these vehicle come with the ford portable charger that has both 110v and 220v plugs? Yes, the 2021 was originally delivered with a dual-voltage 32A mobile charger.

Maintenance schedules are in the app, Ford Pass, under Service. They’re every 10,000 miles <cough>, which seems excessive.

The scheduled maintenance pretty much involves inspections of the brakes, fluids, etc., replacement of the cabin air filter, and rotation of the tires. Ford's documentation kind of contradicts itself in stating that the brake fluid should be changed every three years in some places and not in others. If you're handy, you can pull off the normal 10K services in your own driveway. The brake fluid change requires Brake Service Mode to be entered via the Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS), to which you can obtain a license, but it requires a relatively expensive USB to OBD-2 interface cable (and a Windows laptop). ??

So with the Brand I currently work for (German) we recommend Brake fluid exchange every 2 years, regardless of mileage. Due to it being hydraulic Fluid, by nature it attracts moisture, and moisture causes loss of brake efficiency along with premature wearing of parts. I would definitely recommend every 2 years, I have seen the difference first hand of not performing the necessary Maintenace.

Also I am going to try rotating my tires every 5k to extend there life. It looks like the average is about 20k miles for the GTPE so I will keep you all updated.

The original GT-PE Summer UHP tires are super-soft and people are lucky to get 20K miles out of them. I think the low mileage record is 4K miles on a Cyber Orange GT-PE. I got ~16.5K out of mine, which were rotated every 3500 miles. If your tires have been replaced, they may be All-Season tires. I replaced my 2021's tires with wider All-Season UHPs (which required wider rims). ??
