No more Lime Green

Pretty much looks like grabber blue, but satin. While it looks great, I’m not a fan of the satin or matte finishes.

In this pic it does but not in person looks nothing like grabber blue had one parked next to me other day and not the same at all

I had an ooops a few weeks ago. Backed into my friend’s mailbox trying to back out of his driveway onto a fairly busy street.
It was in the blind spot of both the backup sensors and the mirrors. I was getting cross traffic alerts so even if it did beep I may have assumed it was seeing traffic and I then accelerated to get out of the driveway before more traffic arrived.

The aluminum quarter panel folded dented and creased pretty easily.

The body shop did a great repair but, of course, had to peel the vinyl from that panel and a couple nearby panels to ensure the new paint blended properly. They did a great job.

Unfortunately I cant rewrap those panels for at least 45 days until the paint cures and hardens. Even then, some new Avery Gloss Lime Green probably wouldn’t match the 2.5 year old vinyl, which would be a little sun faded now. The insurance is willing to pay for a complete rewrap to make it right so I went ahead and finished peeling the green today.

It took more work than I was anticipating to peel the vinyl. Then had to give a wipe with some RapidRemover to get the adhesive residue off. Followed by a couple rounds of Isopropyl Alcohol and a good wash. But the paint still looks new underneath.
So it’s back to stock for now. I’m sad the green goblin is dead but I am really looking forward to the redo, in a whole new color, in October or so.
