Hello,
I wanted to ask if anyone has similar experience.
I went to a dealership today to pick up the car I ordered (yay) and went for ford option.
When I signed the loan contract I didn't notice they actually sneaked in some unexplained add-on to the cash price.
Basically the total payment is calculated as the following:
principal = car cash price
- down payment
- rebate and incentive
+ doc fee
+ DMV fee
Monthly payment = (principal + interest - buy out price) / term
Everything else looks correct except the car cash price is MSRP + 1400ish.
On the spot I didn't notice it but when I review this closely at home, it didn't make sense what could possibly be the extra $1400 other than some add-on I didn't agree to (or at least wasn't clearly explained to me)
I'm going to call them on Monday and hopefully get this corrected. I know I signed the contract but I do have email communication to prove that MSRP was what was agreed on and I don't remember they have shown me any itemized cash price breakdown that I agree to besides MSRP.
I was wondering if anyone has similar experience. Well, worst case scenario, it's a $1400 lesson learned for everyone here, make sure you take numbers and go through the formula above and be careful about the cash price that the dealership aren't sneaking anything in.
