Tried searching here but still confused since I’ve never used an OBD2 reader or FORSCAN but thinking about it. Is there a good OBD2 reader that will work with FORSCAN and also interface with an iPhone XS and the CarScanner app? Many recommend the OBDlink EX for FORSCAN but not clear that it can interface with an iPhone. And it wasn’t clear to me that the more expensive OBDlink MX+ works with FORSCAN. Do you need two different OBD2 readers if you want to get info using CarScanner on an iPhone and also program using FORSCAN?

OBDlink MX+ works with FORScan.
Thanks. A bit pricey but that’s life I guess. Naive question: does CarScanner provide info that FORScan doesn’t or does it just make it much more digestible because of its interface?

I only use FORScan (on iPhone and Windows) so I'm not the best resource on CarScanner. I think CarScanner has added more parameters but the latest version of FORScan seems to have added a fair amount as well.
