Hi to all,
This site has proven very valuable to an EV neophyte like myself. I just wanted to post that I got my Premium a year ago. I look for reasons to drive it. Even volunteer to go to the grocery store with my wife. And I never get tired of seeing the mustang puddle lights!
Is it perfect? No. Too bouncy, range drops in the cold weather. But that is basically my only complaints.
My issue will be when the lease is up in two years. It will have ~ 30k miles on it. The buyout is $26k. I'm really hoping that it's value will be at, or close to that price. For those that have been turning in their leased rides, have you had a price that made sense for you to buy it?

I'm a little over a year in (lease) and agree with your love of the car. I just bought a Ford Explorer and while talking to the salesman about my Mach E he asked if I had purchased it leased it. I said I leased it and he said "good move, the used Mach E prices are really bad". I haven't done any research to see if that's true but I find it interesting that this comment was from someone working for Ford.

Sales people hate EVs. Not surprised at all.

EV gov incentives have been all over the place since 2022. Add to that Elon’s BOGO deal on Model Y in Jan 2023. People forget that they did not pay full price and therefore should not judge depreciation based on MSRP. I drive a loaded GT with a $63k MSRP. But my pre-tax out of pocket was around $48k. If market price in two years ends up being $30k, I can’t claim that my car lost half its value! But most people do.

What happened in the past has no relevance to what will happen after the big beautiful bill act went into effect. EV demand could plummet or stabilize at a reasonable level. There will be no gov incentives on new cars, which conceivably makes used cars more appealing.

You will have to wait and see. The good news is that you have options. Some of us don’t.
