Hi all,

I was going to post about my mirrors not folding, but hopefully I found that answer from the threads.

However, in addition, the light that used to turn on at night when I approached the vehicle--at the driver side and the passenger side--that looks like a super cool white Mustang Pony projecting on the ground--is also no longer coming on.

I cannot find a setting that controls this. Any idea? Is this a known malfunction of some sort? Doesn't seem like a huge deal, but if that isn't working I always wonder if something else is not working or about to fail!

THANKS!

Check autofold setting and make sure mirrors are folded while parked.

2021 1st Edition pony lights worked from day one….. OTA updates were stuck on 6.1

took car to dealer, who updated to current software versions for all modules.
Now pony lights don’t illuminate.
Dealer said they checked new vehicles in showroom and none illuminate pony lights. And they dont know why.

I also have a 22 GT. Its is at version 6.6. Updates OTA regularly. Its pony lights WORK 100%.

So failure to light up must be a software glitch. I am hopeful over time Ford will provide an OTA update that will fix this issue.

Thanks all,

I have the mirrors back on and I'll see tonight if the light works!

In addition to the mirrors needing to be folded, you also need to have Welcome lighting enabled.

If you have it enabled, try toggling it off/on.

I often have to toggle the 12/24 off/on even though it says it's on, it still gives me 12 hour clock after some updates.

@Ford Motor Company leased a 2023 MME Prem with Night Pony package- the pony does not light up. Mirrors are set to auto fold.

BTW: just took delivery

what am I missing?

Is Welcome Lighting enabled? It's one of the various vehicle settings.

Hmm mine is out as well, was working a couple months back. Did a reset on the console, welcome lights work (toggled on and off as well), Mirrors set to auto-fold. I'm wondering if one of the recent updates somehow tripped it up.

This won't help much but when I had the 2350 (2530?) recall done the tech was curious to see if the pony lights still worked after updating a bunch of modules.

He was surprised they still worked. We tested about three times and he was perplexed.

Same story as a few of you above - for some they stop working and nobody seems to know why.

However, no idea what their "testing protocol" was for the other cars - did they make sure Welcome lighting and auto-fold was on each time? Dunno.

The alarm motion sensor must be activated once you leave your locked MME. You can opt to have this working at all times in the settings, or you can opt to be asked everytime you turn off the car before you exit. The alarm sensor detection is in the settings. I hope this helps.

I just traded in a select for a GT.

The select has fixed mirrors. The ponies project during welcome lighting.

the GT Must have autofolded turned on. The mirrors must be folded to project the ponies when the welcome lighting turns on. Don’t unlock your vehicle as you approach because it unfolds the mirrors and the ponies will not come on.

stupid stuff we and the dealers are not told about!
