Power folding mirror not folding smoothly

Started smoothly when new.
Eventually less smooth
Dealership applied lubricant and smooth returned.
Kinda makes sense.

Wonder what lubricant is best?
And what surfaces need the lubricant?

Note: mine were smooth the very few times I used the feature. But I only used the feature to enjoy the puddle light image for my grandchildren. They got a kick out of the pony on the ground.

Ok, My 2021 CA/RT1 is having the side mirror folding issues.

I've been driving down an alley with close walls so I hit the fold mirror button and they seem smooth to close, but opening is very chatter/stutter

Looking over these messages I see most are from '21 with a '22 and a '23 tossed in for effect.

I have the issue as well. Only on the driver’s side mirror. Honestly, I haven’t thought about it until I saw this thread. Just adding a data point. I doubt I’ll do anything unless it’s free as in beer ?

I did notice that it's rougher to open than to close as well. The opening motion is like a bad and choppy version of doing the robot. Lol. If anyone knows how to open up the side mirror shell and which gear/place to lubricate, I would be interested to learn.

Me too. Been that way for about 6 month now. Since around maybe 45k miles. Would like to know the process for fixing myself.

I have had this problem for 1 year on my 2021 premium extended range on my driver side only. It seems it only happens when it is not actuated for a night as it will not chug after driving and locking the doors (only wake up). I told my local dealer and they took and look and said they couldn't find anything wrong. If I have more time, I may take it to another dealer to have a look. For now, i am living with the same issue.

Same here for a Job 1 '21. Only judders on the driver's side when opening. Smooth when closing and never on the passenger's side. Been going on for so long I can't remember when it started.
