In addition to my last response, I do find it somewhat amusing that a few believe I am the one with the 'offer'.

Again, my original post was, "Who can tell me what is wrong with this picture?", merely confirming I am not the only one seeing that this 'deal' is no deal at all.

It's not name calling so much as expressing exactly what agreeing to terms like this would be. This deal literally flushes $26,000+ down the drain. I'm sorry if calling that out seems offensive, but I assure you doing it is worse for the person falling into the trap. (Arguably $21,000 of that is already down the drain, but unrealized at this point.)

With no other context that is the natural, first, and logical assumption. To prevent this in the future I would suggest you explain the circumstances in which you received the information to share with us.

To clarify on the unrealized losses, you can argue that the original term of the loan on the trade showed the "total cost" including interest. And the buyer accepted those terms. Thus the "loss" is only realized and accepted if another deal is made agreeing to the "loss". You can argue this both ways obviously. I just hate to see good people fall into financial pitfalls. And the dealers are completely happy to give you the rope to hang yourself.

I had a friend that one time pulled off such a terrible terrible deal that the dealer called him back to give him $3,000 BACK because no bank would agree to the terms without a slight return! Don't be that guy! :)

My goodness, how do Dealers, i.e. humans, sleep at night, doing things like this...?
Honestly, a shame really. Just to 'make a buck'...

Update:
The consumer has purchased, and driven off the lot the Mach-E.

Interesting times ahead. I am trying to let them enjoy the joys of a 'new car'. But, I do need to have another conversation.

PS: Is there not a 3-7 day window (within X miles), that one can return a car/finance deal?
