Radio turns off when Navigation announces

Hi, curious if anyone has experienced the following.
When listening to the radio and while using Waze (or any other navigation) I noted that the radio stops working as soon as Waze makes an announcement. I have to switch on the radio on again after the navigation system announces a turn or other instructions.

Yes, mine did that too--sometimes. It only happened when I was streaming Prime Music. I got tired of dealing with the shitty Prime app and now pay for Pandora and it hasn't happened since.

It is normal for the audio to shut down when there is a nav announcement.
I never listen to the radio, so I don't know why it would shut down.
I always listen to an Audible book and don't seem to have any problems with it continuing.
Now a smart-ass question...Why would you listen to radio when there is so much media available without advertisements?
