I hate the location / visibility of the reverse lights. I've had people nonchalantly stroll (and in one case run) dangerously close behind me as I'm in reverse, seemingly oblivious to the fact that I'm in reverse and about to hit the throttle to back up.
Perhaps they needed hearing aids if they couldn't hear the reverse beep?

This is my second car with the reverse light centered and down low like that. It does help light up the road for the rear facing camera, but a lot of people miss it simply because they don’t expect to see it so low.

At least the Mach-e doesn’t put its brake lights that low (like the Chevy bolt).

People do that when I’m trying to back up in our Raptor as well. Too many humans are simply oblivious. I’ve also had people walk up to the Mach-e and start banging on the driver’s side window to complain about the beeping — while I was backing up.

LOL I have had people walking in front of my T/A in parking lots oblivious to it. Even deaf people can feel the bass from that thing at just above idle from 6 feet. And when I blip the throttle? ?‍♂?

EDIT: I just saw someone walk in front of a moving race car. ?‍♂?

I have to reverse down a narrow lane for about 300 feet each time I leave the abode. For me, the reverse light is FOR me.
Is it providing the necessary light for me to see where I'm navigating.

I hadn't actually noticed its location, but was satisfied with its output.

There's absolutely nothing but critters out there, so none have felt it necessary to inform me of their opinion. :)

In an age where folks no longer feel turn indicating is necessary, I'm surprised folks are watching for reverse indicators.

I think the lesson here is that many people are just clueless and no amount of lights, flashing or beeping will give them a clue.
Unfortunately true. I see it every time in the city. I understand and agree that pedestrians should have right of way. But you just can’t obliviously step off a curb or walk in front/behind a moving car expecting the driver to stop. Because of this bad light design I will never turn off the reverse alarm. The personal injury lawyers would destroy me if I backed into a person.

Our handheld now-ubiquitous smartphone screens certainly don't help, per my observations.
