Can someone show me a picture of how the rear seatbelt is supposed to run past the back of the rear seat?

I have only had my MME since Feb and have not had anyone in the backseat until this weekend when I took my daughter and her boyfriend out to dinner. My daughter had troubles with the seatbelt as it was first, not retracting back once we reached the restaurant and then, after dinner was having trouble pulling it out to latch.

I lowered the seats and saw a clip up on the post but was not sure if the belt was to flow through that and, if so, which way the belt was to flip as it hit that clip. I looked at both sides and neither were connected through the clips so i had no point of reference to refer to. When I look at the owners manual I only saw images of front seat unless I missed something.

I have lowered my seats a lot transporting dogs and plants so I figure I did something to pull them out of the clips/affect their alignment so I thought I would reach out here to see if anyone else had experienced anything similar or could snap a shot of how it is supposed to look so I can fix them.

Thanks!

The clips are just there to hold the seatbelts out of the way when the seats are lowered. They shouldn't be used for passengers. Also, when you put the seats back up, make sure the seatbelt doesn't get pinched when you lock the seat back into place.

Thank you. That makes sense because those clips look entirely too small to be used for any normal pull/retraction activity. I will spend some time tonight after work trying to figure out where they are being hindered in their operation.

The belt goes over top of the seat. You have to hold them up when you're flipping the seat back or the belt ends up on the side.

Wow, thanks. Now I feel like a complete idiot for not realizing that. I appreciate the pic to put it into perspective. Now it makes sense why it was binding so much.

I picked a bad day to quit sniffing glue.
