RFID Charging Card Question

Hi There

New owner here. I did my first public charge yesterday and found a fast charger that was on the blue oval network. I'd linked my RFID card to my ford account and linked my credit card to my ford account.

All went well, I rocked up to the charger, presented my card, the charger then switched on and worked perfectly. Give it a quick 20% charge to get me on my way and I was off.

Only problem, I never actually thought to check how much it charged me. I've got a rough idea and its probably only going to be like 10 quid, but I wanted to know how much it charged me. Checked my credit card, and there's no charge yet. I've looked on the charging history in the ford app and can see the charge.

Is there any way to check the cost after you've walked away ?

On the Ford App you should get a notification that you have been billed £x for charging.

There can sometimes be a bit of a delay between finishing charging and getting the receipt on FordPass or via email.

(….sometimes they don’t charge you at all …. but we don’t shout about thot!) ?

I didn't get any notification on my phone. No e-mail as such either.

Googling I can see in the US you get a complimentary 250kwh of free charging when bought new. Is there something similar in the UK which means with this being my first charge that's why it's not charged me ?

LMAO - no we didn’t get any free charging allowances here (sore point with many early adopters) I think in US it was a compensation thing for delayed delivery post pandemic. We got a free set of wireless headphones instead.

You might find your receipt comes through much later if it was your first charge session. I had a load turn up about 3 months after when Ford’s billing system caught up.

Short answer NO. We did get free access to certain charge points with the Blue Oval Charge, I think you still do, but you still had to pay for the KWh that you got.
My advice is not to compare ANYTHING that the US have had or are given with our cars. Ford UK don't value our custom as much as Ford USA value their customers. They got all sorts of free charging early on, all we got was a pathetic set of bluetooth headphones that never worked properly and I binned within two weeks.

thanks for the advice all. Sounds like its just taking it's time with it being my first bill. It was 150kw DC fast charging I paid for at about 80p per KWH according to the ford app. I charged 20% so about £16 I reckon. Not exactly fussed when that arrives on my bill. Will make a note next time to check the screen before I click finish and disconnect.

With it being my first time was too busy trying to work everything out to remember to look at the cost.
