UK folks, about 2.5 yrs after getting my Mach E I finally realised I never got the 'card' for the pillar code.

Do I have to do the 2 key fob thing to retrieve it? I can go to the dealer but I am not sure if they will have a record after his long.

Also, does the door code add more security to the car,?

Lastly, the Mach E does not have a screen code to start the car like Tesla has, does it ?

the car does have a start code which is different than the door code you get with the car. You should be prompted to create a start up code when you set up PAAK. It's in manual under PAAK "programming phone"

The factory door code is printed on a sticker that’s on the Body Control Module (BCM). In a US-spec car it’s located in the right side footwell. Not sure for an RHD car where it’s located but I assume the same place since there appears to be room for pedals with no interference. ??

If memory serves, PAAK isn’t a thing in the UK.

Code is printed on the Body Control Module Sticker which is located in the fuse box. The fuse box is in the passenger footwell on our RHD cars. If you zoom the attached pic you can see the label with the code on the far left.

If you don’t fancy getting on your hands and knees the dealer can retrieve the code electronically by plugging in their FDRS laptop in about 10 secs.

The key code doesn’t add more security, but it will allow you to open the vehicle without the physical key and also allow you to open the frunk and boot using the door panel.

We have no option to use a code on the main screen to start the vehicle in UK as we have no PAAK capability. So no it’s not like a Tesla.

Hope that helps ?

Such a pity that we don't have the code on main screen option. I would have used it all the time. It might have brought our cars into a lower insurance group. (Well, you can dream)

Honestly, I never knew PaaK was not an option in the UK models. Is that because of a law or something?

And, to be clear, I am in the US (from the UK), and don't even use PaaK. From my tests, it was not reliable...

It was a decision taken by Ford UK on the specification. The Mach-E in the rest of Europe has PAAK but they wanted to reduce the insurance group that the car was classified in here.

Just for context our insurance groups run from 1 to 50 - with 50 being the highest. Cars with PAAK tend to be closer to the 50 end of the scale (like the Tesla Model 3)

With tweaks to the features they managed to get the group down to 37 for a RWD model (a GT is group 47)

So legally we can have it here - but Ford wanted to make the car cheaper to insure.
