I have a roofbag from, https://www.roofbag.com/Car-top-carriers.asp, that I've had for almost 10 or so years. I've used it on all kinds of vehicles, latest was a 2014 Ford Edge with the panoramic sunroof. I have never had an issue with scratches or damage to the glass, but wondering if anyone has used this or has thoughts on its use with the MME.

How do I use the bag:
1. Clean the roof of the vehicle with water then glass cleaner (I typically rainX aswell)
2. Place a provided mat down to "protect" the car roof
3. place bag on roof and fill it
4. use provided straps that hook to the door jamb and tighten with ratchet straps.

Do any of you see a problem using this on the MME. I'd hate to crack my roof.

To me, this clearly falls under the "wow, that really would be a stupid thing to try" category. Glass roof, nothing but glass. No way in hell would I do this.

I'd love to hear someone explain why not. I hear "wow that would be stupid" and "I wouldn't" but with no reasoning to back it up.

I'm genuinely interested in the pros vs cons or reasons not to. It's a car roof able to withstand rolling over and other, structural issues. Why not use a roofbag?
