Today is a sad day as I traded in my 2021 Premium for a Bronco Sport. I loved the car despite the occasional issues - recalls, long time to repair, software bugs etc. I never had any of the worst problems like a 12V battery of HVJB failure. I was looking to replace it next year but moved up the time table after seeing how the hurricane submerged EVs could catch fire. Yes, I live in Ohio but that was relevant to me for reasons too long to explain here.

I know you're all wondering so here it is - 2021 Premium AWD Extended battery in pretty good shape. Original tires that will need to be replaced soon. 30,900 miles. Original cost about $58,000 less $7,500 tax credit.

I received $23,000 for the trade plus rebates of $2,500 that I was eligible for because I had a trade. Not sure all of that actually depended on the trade but at least $1,500 did so let's say I received 24,500-25,500 for the trade. Carvana offered me $26,000 but had not inspected the car yet.

Goodbye to all. I will be driving a Volvo XC 60 PHEV for a while. Then I will get back to a fully electric car next time. Hopefully I can find one that my wife wont get car sick in. And head's up to the Newbies, you will get less range in the cold weather this winter :).

FYI I don’t think any Ford EVs caught fire in the hurricane, they have a different battery venting style than the Teslas that caught fire. I would argue they’re more waterproof and would probably float for a quite while before anything leaked and caught on fire.

You’ll have to try the 2025 model with new suspension to see if your wife tolerates that better.
