I was on Skye and got a spanner displayed. The Ford Pass notification was (as shown) saying I had a Powertrain Malfunction. The nearest Ford Dealer said they could not help and suggested I phone Ford Assist (The AA), I did.
I chap came out and was with me 90minutes after phoning. He admitted in the phone call that he was not trained on the MME but I suggested he plugged in his computer to the car. When he arrived he did that. He said there were lots of faults listed but not one was to do with the power train (The dashboard spanner light was not on when we powered up the car). He used his computer to clear all the faults and then checked they stayed fixed. (Was this the equivalent to Alt/Cntrl/Del?)
Tomorrow I am driving over Applecross Pass. That will reveal if there really is powertrain fault! Watch this space.
