Super LOUD ringer volume using Apple Car Play

Has anyone else noticed this problem and hopefully have a solution? Whenever I get a call in the car the ringer volume blows us away. It seems like ringer volume on my iPhone goes to max every time I get in the car and apple car play connects. Ringer volume is way higher than call conversation volume. It's driving me crazy.

I have to confess. I was the beta tester for this feature. I've flown airplanes for over 40 years. I'm hard of hearing, I thought it sound normal. Sorry.

When the phone is ringing, adjust the volume using the car's volume control. This will only change the ringer's volume, not the media center's volume.

Mine does the opposite. No ring at all, and I am trying to figure out how to make the car ring, or even the phone itself when a call comes in on carplay. Is there a setting I'm missing?

When the phone is ringing, adjust the volume using the car's volume control. This will only change the ringer's volume, not the media center's volume.

This is exactly what happened on my Ford Edge. Sometimes we could barely hear the navigation messages. Found out you needed to adjust the volume when a navigation was actually speaking was to fix it.

My experience has been that the Ford Pass app and PaaK seem to set my phone to maximum volume every time I use them. Has anyone else experienced this?
