Washington Surprise SC rates.

I’m getting my A2Z adapter on Tuesday do I thought I’d go up to the closest SC and try it out. I looked it up and the rate is 31¢! That is 14¢ cheaper than the EA a few miles away. I was pleasantly surprised.

A few weeks ago I used the Tesla Magic Dock in Glendale, AZ and it was $0.39/kWh while all the EA and EVgo chargers on the trip were between $0.43 and $0.49/kWh. So I had the same experience that the Tesla SC was less expensive. It was equally as fast as the other chargers.

Not all Tesla sites are cheaper. The other Glendale site at Westgate is $0.58/kwh between 12pm and 7pm, as is the Goodyear SC site. Each Tesla site has prices based on usage for that site. In general, the ones with easy highway access are more expensive.

The one I posted about is on a 2 lane state highway that is the main route to the state ferry to Seattle but in a rural county. It is located at a casino on a tribal reservation the sits right next to that highway. There is a lot of traffic on the road but the SC is lightly used.

There are 4 active DCFC in the county:
This one.There is an EA about 3 miles down the road at Walmart super center. Ford dealer has some about 10 miles south. Finally an EA at a Fred Meyer 3 miles south of them. Shell has a new station that opened a year ago that has chargers but they are not active yet. The 2 most densely populated areas are in between all of these and have no DCFC which I find odd.

No, they require the adapter, but you can check the rates in the Tesla or Ford apps.
