Unfortunately it is already a theme. Lots of plant closures. Not sure if this is going to become a theme..

I think this is just the ICE Mustang, not the Mach-E. Of course, the same certainly applies to the Mach-E, but I wonder if they will try to keep that production going. Sacrificing the Mach-E won't make a huge dent in sales of Ford other vehicles. They sell almost 1 million F-150s a year, routing chips from the Mach-E to the F-150 won't make a dent in the backlog (assuming they can even do that), but it will cause an important and highly visible launch to stumble. Unless they just can't get any chips they need, in which case not much they can do.Not sure if this is going to become a theme..

Mach-e production was planned to be rather limited this year, even before the chip shortage reared its ugly head. Ford ordered enough for the planned cars (but not enough for the now rather obvious demand imo). So as long as there aren't additional shortages, they should be fine, even if delayed a bit. That is the thing... They are saying that there is an issue with semidonductors but doesn't that mean that there is a bigger problem making Mach E then any other car? Considering the amount of electronics involved.
