I'm looking to replace my OEM Michelin Primacy 225/55R19s on my 2022 Premium RWD SR. I've gotten my back tires plugged a few times due to nails/screws and the tread depth reading when I last took my car in to do the tire repair indicates I need new tires soon.

I live in SoCal, so snow is not something I will be driving in. Since I only have SR not ER, I don't want to take a hit on range if possible. I sometimes drive 140ish miles round trip on one charge currently (at 70-80mph) and would prefer not having to stop to charge (I usually start the trip at 100% and end at around 20%).

What tires would you recommend that is similar or better (noise, comfort, etc.) than the current OEMs I have without too much range reduction? I've seen CC2s recommended a lot, but not sure they would still be recommended in SoCal weather especially if I don't want to take a hit on range?

The Primacy A/S tires are OEM for a reason. Get those and you’ll have the same performance as stock. The CC2’s are OEM on the Rally edition but I’ve read on multiple EV forums that there is around a 10% loss using the CC2’s vs the Primacy. Also, CC2’s are directional, so you can’t rotate them like normal, if that bothers you.

I would stick with the stock tires if they were acceptable to you. There are no tires that would get better numbers on noise, comfort, and economy all at the same time. There are people who have gotten the Hankook Ion EV tires and found them pretty good on range but IIRC the impact harshness is a little higher. šŸ¤”šŸ©

I'm not fan of stock tires - they usually go out at 25K-30K miles on my MMEs. I like Hankook ION ev tires, 2 sets that I ran on my CR1 and GT lasted no less than 50K miles. Also I tried Bridgestone Turanza Prestige and they looked great too (they have manufacture warranty 70K miles), but I used them just couple months and moved away from them since I replaced wheels.

I would not go to CC2 since I'm not doing rally and SoCal winter is no snow and icing.

Others are saying the same thing that I would advise. My Michelin Primacys lasted 48,000 miles, and I could have taken them further if I hadn’t been going into winter at 48k. I also am in CA but do occasionally deal with snow. I switched to the Hankook Ion Evo SUV tires at 48K, but they are no better than the originals. I am now at 30K with the Hankooks, and they are wearing pretty much the same as the original Primacys. So I would advise to stick with the Primacys. That being said, because I do deal with snow, I may try the Nokian Remedy WRG5 tires next time. I haven’t found any MachE owners who have tried them yet but they come with a 60K tread wear warranty, good efficiency, and are more snow oriented.
