Cool car. I am impressed how GM has taken on EVs. Spent 4 days in a Silverado, and even though I prefer my lightning, certain aspects were impressive. Test drove the Lyriq and the Equinox, and thought both were good (but for the absence of CarPlay). They don’t seem to be waffling like ford. Love my MachE and Lightning, but worry about ford’s EV wherewithal. No platform yet.

Congrats! We are on the fence for a Lyriq after a test drive across the Cadillac EV lineup. My only concern is the massive depreciation on the caddy. It makes the Mach E look like a value leader 3 years later. All EV’s depreciate quickly but the Lyriq is chopped in half 1 year later. Yikes!

They do have a great ride and like the infotainment though. I have an interest in a Lyriq V possibly on a lease if they ever get attractive terms.

If the Lyriq drops in value that far, then a used one with an extended warrantee would seem like the next move. Check out the competency of the dealership.

I need to report that I just traded in my 2022 Mach-E Premier for a Cadillac Optiq.

Needed a smoother ride as my frame gets older.
Your post made me go look at the Optiq. Just curious, I don't see a rear wiper in any of the photos...is there a hidden wiper, or some system of rear window cleaning?

Mostly the ride. And, the new Mach-E’s weren’t much better than my 22.

No rear wiper - not a problem since I use the rear camera mirror

What happens when the rear camera gets dirty? It better have a lens washer or that's a deal breaker for climates with road salt and mud.
It has a lens washer

GM needs to:
1. Develop the advanced technology called “frunk”, and
2. Support Apple CarPlay (ideally, Ultra)
Before they even exist as a potential contender in my eyes.

We did the same thing a month ago. So far very pleased with the decision to trade for our particular needs. Enjoy!
