Hi,

I don't know the correct word in american english for the rear trunk ;)

Today I washed my car (by hand) and had a closer look to my trunk lid.
Here I saw a crack or so on the straight line between window and the bottom where the camera is.

There are no paint damages and it's not possible to press it in, it's not loose.
Also it's not sharp when you touch or wipe with your finger over it.

What is it?
Did someone see something similar?

Regards

That's NOT normal. Defective moulding as the lid is plastic. How did this get by the PDI?

The car is 4 years old and that wasn't there at the beginning.
But I have a theory, what I found out this morning.

It was a sunny morning and the lid was on the sunny side.
The lid was really hot. I checked the place wit the mark and put my fingernail in it.
It was really soft and there is a fingernail imprint now.
That means the material or paint is going really soft, when the sun shines on it.

My car parks under a carport.
The lid is a bit higher than my carport roof.
When I unload something I put my lid gently under the roof, so the lid touches the roof.
I think I did that one day when the lid was hot and some wood edges put the mark on it... :(
