So today I was pleased to log in to my account and see that my order had been updated with a production date. Yay!

Later in the day I got an email from Ford with the production date. The coveted "Your vehicle has been scheduled for production" email. Actually, I got two copies of the email, though I didn't think anything of it at first; previous emails I'd gotten from Ford also came in pairs, and I'd just always assumed that it was just some kind of glitch in their system.

But then I took a closer look, and realized the two emails have two different VINs attached to them. One of them is the VIN that I get from the tool when I check my order online, and that email has a "View Order" button that just takes me to the order status page. The other email, with the different VIN, instead has a button that says "Track Order" and goes to a different vehicle order tracking page on shop.ford.com, where it shows the VIN as well as the order number that's on the order sheet from my dealer.

I emailed my dealer to ask for clarification but haven't yet heard back. I'm kind of wondering if the dealer messed something up and instead of merely accepting my initial order that was placed online, they've accepted that order and input a second order directly through their system, and now I've wound up with two different orders configured the same way? Anyone seen anything like this?

More like they ordered one for themselves with your order and are going to mark it as customer declined pickup so they can sell it. I have the same issue I got two emails at first and when I call ford for an update they always ask me what color like I ordered more than one. Seems like a way to get around giving you msrp price b/c they get their money with the other one.
