Voice Control and Android Auto (or Car Play)

When you are using Android Auto (AA), does the voice button on the steering wheel send voice commands to AA or to Sync? I hate to lose the voice commands for the car when AA is connected for things like climate control in the car, etc. Would be nice if the voice button on the steering wheel still activated Sync 4 voice commands, then if you wanted AA voice commands you would have to hit the mic button in AA. Just wondering how it works in the Mach E/Sync 4.

I believe a long press on the steering wheel button gets you AA or CarPlay, while a short press still gets you the Ford Assistant.

This is the most useful piece of info that no one told me. Thank you!!!!! I thought it was a glitch that sometimes I got AA and sometimes I got Ford Sync. But it was how long I was holding down the button. Thank you!!!
