Issues with Car Play/Android Auto and Profiles after 3.5.3 and 3.5.4 updates

Same issues here. PaaK is terrible, Profiles don't work, AA often does not connect. I am starting to hate this car. Ford software just $ucks.

Piling on: Yesterday, the car used what you could call an anonymous profile -- just three dots instead of an icon/name, with default settings. Tried to change to either mine or my wife's profile, no dice.

Sync reset fixed it, but...why?

The sudden pauses aren't the MME's fault. I have experienced that using AA in several rental cars lately.

I had the opposite experience last weekend - I had a VW Taos (small ICE SUV) and connected my phone using wireless android auto. Absolutely no stuttering or skipping on music during my 2.5 hr trip (5 hrs round trip).

Then when I got home, my 2021 mach-e starts stuttering on wireless android auto, same as before my trip. Something definitely changed with one of the recent 3.5.x power ups because I never had this issue before.

Hah. Specifically ONLY within a one block stretch of road nearing the Costco I frequent. I don’t know what it is, but CarPlay will drop hard RIGHT THERE and then come back 500 feet later. Definitely something that cause interference.

This used to happen to me on one specific stretch of road. There was some construction going on so I figured there was interference related to that. I run wireless android auto

I found one cause/solution to the profile problem I was having. When that was happening (ie, defaulted to guest and can't change to my personal one.) I checked the settings and the option for "User Profile" was off and I had to turn it on and it would allow me to change it to my profile. Hope the settings stick. Been about a week and it hasn't happened yet. ?

I see this version number 3.5.3 a lot. Exactly where do I see that on my ME. I have a new one and I think mine says 4.something. So that may not be right....

I checked the settings and the option for "User Profile" was off and I had to turn it on and it would allow me to change it to my profile.

That there is such a setting is a bit surprising (I can see how it would be handy when a friend is driving the car to check it out, maybe), but more interesting is that it seems to set/unset itself.

Will have a look at ours.

I just got notified that I received 3.5.4.2. I hope this fixes the problems with profiles and CarPlay - both of which randomly started failing in the last few days despite 3.5.4 being updated a week ago.

I had this happening on Friday and Saturday, did the reset and could switch to my profile, but then all my radio presets were scrambled, and I kept getting annoying check back seat warnings. Also on Saturday, my GPS got lost again. Suddenly on Sunday, the profile corrected itself and my presets were back to normal, and no more back seat warnings.

Some days the Sync software is like scrambled eggs, other days it is sunny side up.

So my CarPlay did not connect this morning. I received the 3.5.4.2 update after I arrived at work and before lunch. I went out for lunch and CarPlay connected both when I left and when I came back. Maybe 3.5.4.2 is the fix; at least it is for me right now!

CarPlay won't connect with my phone, briefly connected with my wife's before disconnection. This has been going on for several days.

Same here. I’m 3 for 3 in successful CarPlay connections since I received 3.5.4.2. So far, so good.
