So I stupidly updated FordPass even though I wasn’t having any issues. Now, walk away lock is inconsistent in whether it works or not. I’ve now come out to an unlocked car a few times and, somewhat surprisingly, nothing was stolen. Has anyone else experienced this recently and found a fix for it? I could totally wipe all my system settings and start from scratch but I’d like to avoid spending an hour or more resetting everything if at all possible - especially since I don’t have a reason to think that would fix it anyway. Thanks!

Have you fully rebooted your phone yet?

Yes, it’s still inconsistent though. I exclusively use PaaK as well. Sometimes I just have to walk back to the car, open the door, and then walk away again. I guess I got too accustomed to it working flawlessly on both of my Mach E’s since day one. Even when PaaK was failing constantly, walk away lock always worked.

I’m having the same problem. It always worked before the update I received last week. I bet it’s a bug in the software. Probably have a fix for it a5 some point?

There's a new version of the app now: 4.15.1. Not sure if Walk Away Lock works better (I too experience issues with it from time to time), but at least it resolved the black screen issue with the app...

Yeah, I thought 4.15.1 was out but Apple’s App Store still has 4.15.0 as the latest version.

Walk away locks have always been inconsistent for many of us. I don’t think it’s specific to a FordPass revision.

Likewise. Never an issue with walk away liking until this FordPass update. With that said, correlation ≠ causation.

Thanks, I didn’t realize that. Mine has been absolutely perfect in both cars until the update. Guess I’ve been fortunate! Weird that PaaK frequently struggled for me but the walk away lock worked every time. But then again, my phone will be connected yet CarPlay fails sometimes too because “no phone connected.” These Bluetooth issues just seems odd to me.

About once a week my phone will connect but CarPlay refuses. New tech isn’t perfect by any means.

Yeah, CarPlay can be finicky. I usually wait till it connects before connecting the USB cable. Seems if I connect to cable prior to the handshake that it doesn't come up

Close the door and put 2 fingers on the 7 and 9 key pad for a second. Locks instantly confirmed with red dot lighting up and inside amber light on door.
