This doesn't make any sense.
Nissan, Landrover, Tesla and Renault all have walk away locks in the UK with no problem.
I can confirm that my wifes Renault Clio and my mother in laws Renault Captur definitely have it.
So what is the issue with this car.
The double lock thing seems potentially dangerous, as if the car is locked it means you could get trapped in the car, surely this isn't safe.

Know anyone in London that can activate this?
One of the owners from Watford kindly offered to switch mine on for me. We haven't caught up yet but I'm sure he'd be happy to help you out too if you're nearby.
Feel free to join the Facebook Owners group.

I think there’s some confusion over “what’s allowed” and “what Ford decided to include in the UK build specifications”

There were decisions made to cut various options available elsewhere for two reasons….

1) Keep the UK pricing where they wanted it.

2) Thatcham approved features to keep the insurance group reasonable.

Many Teslas that have lots of features like PAAK and walk away lock - insurance group 50 (the highest)

Non GT Mach-E with considered options - insurance group 33 to 40.

It was all about striking a balance of cost and insurability - and that’s why we have what we have.

Also worth noting that enabling walk away locking on UK cars changes the Thatcham rating that the insurance group is based on.

Hello folks,

And thank you all for this thread! I've just found it after trawling the interwebs for ages!

I've been looking for info on both PaaK and walk away locking and no where (except this thread) suggests they've been removed from UK mach-e's.

I'm not that fussed about walk away locking, or PaaK although I did want to try PaaK.

I do want the power meter though...

Eeeew… bad news on the Power Meter I’m afraid. It worked flawlessly on non GT models here (when enabled via ForScan) for a good couple of years…… but….. a recent update to the Powertrain software by Ford seems to have borked it.

It will now only show the regen activity. The power side of the meter is fully greyed out.

I actually disabled it on my vehicle in the end as to me at least it went from being fab to being useless.

Sorry!

Give it a go anyway - your Powertrain software might not have been updated to that version yet - so you can enjoy it for a little while :)

But if you get the grey bars on the right side of the meter you know you’re on the latest version.

I'm actually taking the car in at the end of Feb to get the latest updates pushed. It seems to be quite out of date, despite being built in June 24.

Will the fotd garage have issues if I tinker with FORScan?

It’s a tough one to balance, but if you tinker too much you will deviate from standard and put yourself at risk excluding yourself from OTA Updates, you could make changes that will affect your insurance and warranty.

Ford could invalidate your warranty if the dealer feels you’ve messed about with it too much. So I’ve always been of the opinion of be selective and don’t go crazy in what you tweak (and keep a record of the values in ForScan before and after so you can back out the changes to get you back to standard setup)

I have FDRS so if you do want a list of the available updates for your car I’d be happy to get you the list (send me a DM of your VIN if interested)

Tony, mind if I get your help. I've got Forscan and the cable and would really like to be able to switch on the walkaway locking. Any chance you could guide me through the process?

Tinkering is great been there but when something fcuks up and the dealer/ford tell you to jog on when you brick something, a fault occurs or updates fail. Personally for the sake of clicking lock on a key fob I wouldn’t risk it.
Horses for courses.
