Weird glitch or new feature?

So I took my MME out for its first trip in snow and decent cold (16F). When I left the garage, I was seeing the normal radar image from the top down with the colored blocks around the car. But when I went into the garage after the quick trip, I instead got a strange car outline with what looked like a colored contour map around it. I don’t remember seeing any update come through. Is this just some strange glitch from the cold?

That is a normal mode for the radar screen. However, I don't know why sometimes it come on with the visual, and rarely, it comes on with the contours (which I find REALLY useful).

You can turn it to the contours by pressing the contour button on the overhead view screen.

I will have to look for that next time I am in the car. I can see where they could be useful, but I new exactly how many organs squares I needed to see in order to clear the garage door!
