What does the 'Alexa' feature do that actually requires the subscription?

See title. IF I can still use Alexa as Voice Activation for most of the cars features, i'm trying to figure out why you need a subscription. Any insight would be helpful.

but of course, you can do all of this with your phone, but you have to open it up and press the app so there's that.

I'll never use that, the Hello Ford works for my needs. I suppose there is something for your apple watch as well.

Along this line is there a list of minimum privacy settings that still give you most functionality but say doesn’t share your location when you aren’t using the app and things like that?
