What does scheduling a trip in Trip Planner actually do?

When I schedule a trip in the Trip Planner, does it precondition the battery? Offer to load that trip when I get in around that time and start driving?

Practically, is there any difference between a "scheduled trip" (which has a future date/time) and a "Saved Trip" which doesn't?

I do not think it preconditions. But it does provide estimated arrival times for charging stops and final destination.

I think the only difference is for a scheduled trip, after the date passes it shows as past trips, but I haven't used their trip planner in a long time.
