You know how when someone has a new baby, and you get to see it for the first time, but the baby is not cute, and you're afraid to be truthful? Well, this is Telos to me...

I love the idea of a EV pickup! I would be driving a Lightning if Ford didn't ramp up the price before my reservation number came up. And these pickups (Slate & Telos) look smaller, which would fit my use better anyway. I love the MachE, but when our Leaf's life ends, who knows, maybe a little pick-em-up truck.

Have you priced out a Silverado EV?

They look good in person, but holy cow, I priced one out as I would like it and it was over $100,000!!

Maybe because the slate is “new news” and backed by mega-billionaire billionaire Jeff Bezos.

The Telo is “last months news” and backed so far by…… $5 million from investors.

And $5 mill? That ain’t gonna be enough.

The design is interesting. We shall see if it can pass crash tests and if it’ll ever make it to market.

Currently? My bet is “no” and “no,” but I reserve the right to be wrong.
Telos is last month's "darling". Slate is new. It is this month's "darling". Everyone who thinks they are an "influencer" needs to cover it to maintain their place in the blog-o-sphere. There is still coverage of Telos, Aptera and others. Just not a flood of it.

Exactly! The Lightning I wanted, with extended range, the Lariat model included options I wanted, would have probably cost me 90K about 2.5 years ago!

Even a used Lightning Lariat now, costs about the same as I paid for my 2023 brand new less then 2 years ago. I made the right decision with the MachE!

People would be way more likely to throw play money at a weekend performance toy from a startup company than trust their hard earned money on their daily driver.
You mean like Brand T did with their original roadster? ??

Not me. I'll say it (since canines don't care): It's fugly. Then again, the Slate is just a little less fugly. ??

Exactly!

That is a play out of the playbook new EV startups should steal.

But for a startup to go head to head against the most competitive space in the automotive market right now (midsize EV SUV) seems like a straight path to bankruptcy.

The supply of midsize EV SUV models way outstrips demand. If you divide the number of sales by the number of available models, it’s very slim. Especially since brand T has a 50% share and dozens and dozens of models have to compete for a small sliver of the other 50%.

Now an EV performance roadster? A startup could have 100% of that market right now.
