Anyone have experience with NOT driving their MME in the winter months? I have no garage so indoor storage is not an option. I’m wondering about the battery? If I store it in my driveway will I have to keep it plugged in constantly? I’m concerned about the cold weather and how it affects the batteries. (Canadian climate).

Cold weather will not damage the batteries at all. While cold reduces the available energy from a battery, it causes no permanent damage.

You may want to use a battery tender for your 12v though.

The manual has long-term storage instructions.
  • When storing your vehicle for greater than 30 days the state of charge should be approximately 50%. Additionally, we recommend disconnecting the 12v battery which will reduce system loads on the HV battery.
If you do as @ChasingCoral suggests and add a 12v battery tender, you don't need to disconnect the 12v battery. I'd suggest one around 10 amps to get through any updates or activity that might happen while you are away.

We are out of Canada from Nov 1 - late April each year. I do store our Mache California Route in our garage and this will be the third winter.

I do NOT plug the EV charger in at all. The battery does not discharge over the winter.

However, attach in a “Battery Tender” to the 12 Volt battery. I also put a car cover on the car. In the spring I take the cover off. Remove the battery tender. I have not had any problem at all.

The manual has a section on Mache’s which are stored for long periods.
