I recently drove a Silverado EV and an Equinox EV. I think Ford seriously needs to work toward having buttons and knobs for HVAC. I find that this is a safer option than having to look down during more than one touch of the screen. For those of you who are die-hard touchscreen advocates, Chevy actually offers both.

My second wish, which is not as critical, but would be nice to have is a kWh-ometer. (I don't know Chevy's name for it, but that's what I'm calling it.) You can really learn what driver actions hurt and help your miles per kWh. Ford's brake coach only shows up in Engaged mode and only when you are completely stopping. This picture I snapped was while I was rolling up to a red light, but the light turned green before I was completely stopped, so the brake coach would not have given any feedback. It was also fascinating to see how little energy I used on the interstate when I let off because the traffic was slowing a bit.

Unrelated, but throwing some love Ford's way.... thank goodness we have a Stop button! Chevy has you turn off the vehicle on the touchscreen.

I usually don’t change the HVAC controls that often so it doesn’t bother me much. You can use voice commands to control most of the hvac as well if you dont want to look. Ford does have the trips tab that shows you kWh/per mile to give you a sense of how efficient your driving is. The car is now almost 5 years old and was built with first time EV users in mind so it does lack alot of the EV screens EV users like. All the technically screens are really left off the Mach e for better or for worse.

I haven't had much luck with voice commands. Seems like changing the temp was the only thing I ever got to work so I gave up trying various commands. Also, it was a lot quicker to spin that knob in the Chevy than to push the button for voice command, pause while it loads, then tell it the temperature I want.
