Great question. In order to find the corrosion, they had to sand some of the paint

So? They're replacing the doors - why does it matter if the bare metal is exposed to the elements for a couple weeks?

I finally swung by my dealer for the issue I reported a few months back. The body shop says the doors will need to be repainted and should take 3-4 days. Just need to find out when I can get the job done.

When getting my car washed, we discovered small vein-like protrusions from the paint under with a windows. Sadly, the Ford dealer (and the body shop) have confirmed the aluminum doors are corroding. It will only get worse and the solution is to replace all 4 doors.

Anyone else heard of this?

I was worried about that too and asked them to check the door hems for my car and no defect was found there.

Update. They started working on the car this week. I Should have it back by the end of the month. Interestingly, the shop with the supposed not great rep is turning out to be very very good (knock on wood). I had a chance to go visit the car this week, but they had just started disassembling it.

If anyone has the same problem as me, push to have the doors replaced. You don’t want it to become a problem again once it is out of warranty

I got around to dropping my car off and I was informed my doors are getting replaced. The Ford authorized body shop my dealership uses determined it's not a paint issue but aluminum corrosion, too.

I hope my situation doesn't end up being like yours @MrLoganRoss.

I had almost completely forgotten that one of my rear doors has this issue. I'll have to remember to mention it during my service appointment this Thursday. This will be my 3rd trip to the dealer in 2 years for multiple warranty issues.

I posted in another thread what a disaster the door replacement was. Ford ended up doing a buyback of my car. I leased a ‘25.

Also in case anyone was curious, here is how the corrosion looks like underneath the paint.

Since this is corrosion, I'm guessing this falls under the 5 year corrosion warranty. I'll ask my dealer to double check. My fear is that the front doors will eventually show this issue too.

Mentioned the paint/corrosion issue along the top of the doors at my service appointment today. It looks much worse than the last time I inspected it.

Unfortunately I was told that I need to contact a separate shop that is a couple hours away from me in order to have it inspected.

I'll keep you all posted once I have it assessed.
