Mine took to riding like a fish to water, had a 3 hour drive bringing him home at 8 weeks old! I even took him flying the next day and he loved that!

More to the point, @Ford Motor Company needs to step up and give us "Pet Mode" in our Mach-Es!

Tesla has it. Rivian has it. Lucid has it. But not Ford!

Ford patented a Pet Mode feature years ago, but for some reason never implemented it. I'm guessing their liability-conscious lawyers advised against it, for fear that some irresponsible parent would use it to leave their kids in the car.

But not having Pet Mode is a significant downside for dog owners. We can't take our dogs on some trips due to the lack of it. Many dog owners have been compelled to choose another EV as a result.

@Ford Motor Company, it's past time to come to grips with this and give us Pet Mode in our Mach-Es!

This is not more to the point as this is not a Ford Motor Company post but, just a nice way to recognize dog day.

But, with that said, I will bite. Why does the lack of a pet mode prevent you from taking your dog with you?

You must not be a dog owner!

Pet Mode allows you to safely leave your dog in the car while you run briefly into a shop or attend an appointment. The car is locked, and the climate system is set to keep your pet comfortable. Many of these systems put a note on the display letting passersby know that your pet is safe.

Many other EVs have this enabled, but @Ford Motor Company has never activated it. They're losing business as dog owners who seek that convenience purchase other EVs.

As for the problem you discussed if you think outside the box this is no problem whatsoever. I leave the vehicle on with climate control and simply take a sheet of copy paper and compose a note notifying anyone who notices my dog and leave it on the dash. It simply says he is ok, ac on and please text or call me @***-***-**** if there is a problem. Never had an issue ever and have done for years now.

Congratulations on developing a workaround. But you missed the point that you wouldn't have to do any of that if @Ford Motor Company would simply activate Pet Mode that they've already patented! Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, and others can't all be wrong!

I get your point and I’m sure Ford will do this, they can be slow. 😎
