Is there a way to ensure air recycling is always on?

I'm not even sure what causes it to turn off after it has been turned on. I'm wondering if there is a setting I can change to make sure it is on by default?

I feel like Auto is a mess of not working in the way I want. Periodically auto will go to heat mode and turn off air recycling even though it is summer. I live in FL so I'm not sure why the heat was coming on especially in the summer.

I've turned Auto off and keep my AC temp at 73 and mostly don't touch it anymore beyond increasing fan speed depending on time of year.

If you do not use “Auto” and direct the air to only the dash vents, it will stay on.

Short answer is- no.

Now if you like recirc to minimize outdoor smells, I highly recommend the upgraded interior air filter. That gets rid of those nasty outside exhaust smells.

Once I got a new filter, I didnt miss the recirc.

I’ve gotten both the Ford premium one and the aftermarket upgraded one. Both work great.

Follow Maquis recommendation and do the following:
After you have the setting where you want them, tap the recycle icon twice (once to turn it off, again to turn it on). That should keep it on recycle, even if you turn off the AC.
