What a shame. Although I have never lived in a state where a clean air vehicle got HOV privileges, I do remember how those privileges helped promote hybrid vehicle sales and use, starting us on the road to significant hybrid and, eventually, EV ownership. I just hope that the trends continue and that I will still be able to buy an EV or hybrid that I want in two years when my Mach-e lease is up. I know that Ford has dropped my go-to hybrid from the line-up. I had owned three Escape hybrids (one from each generation) before trading my 2021 in on my Mach-e. Now in its infinite wisdom, Ford has discontinued the Escape altogether. So, for my next car I will be shopping elsewhere, probably Japanese. (And after almost 50 years of Ford ownership, I never thought I would be saying this.)

You probably already know this, but if you heat the stickers with a hair dryer for a few moments before attempting to remove the sticker, it helps. This has worked wonders removing the dealership "advertising" decals from my cars over the years.

n my area there tends to be 2 to 3 times more ICE single occupant cars in the HOV lane than ones that have the right to be there and the CHP never pull them over.

They do seem to have given up on carpool lane enforcement in recent years. I see lots of people entering/exiting across solid double lines, and cops never bother them. That was much less common a few years ago.

Here in metro Atlanta we have lost the "Free" aspect of the HOV lane as of yesterday 9/30. Now we are going to be treated just like the ICE People.......Dang it!!! It has been SOOOO nice just to pop in the HOV lane and not have to pay.

My wife complains that the app (Peach Pass) won't let you use it while moving (understand the safety aspect); but that means unless you pre-plan, you can't use the HOV lane, even if your registered and it will cost $ regardless.

Why did it get killed in California? I understand ATL being in the south and Trump Country....But Gov. Newsome County?.......

You guys stuck the HOV stickers directly onto the paint?? A little PPF in between goes a long way for easier (cleaner) removal… hindsight is 20/20.

No, unfortunately, you have to activate on the App (if there are less than 3 persons ((poodles do NOT count)) in the car). There are camera's every so often that hit your tag. They just send you a bill in the mail or deduct from your prepaid acct if you don't submit to their subjugation!!!

Heat gun constantly moving, or hair dryer. Peel, dental floss, rub, or scrape with fingers. Goo Gone or WD-40 soak for fair bit of time and more rubbing. Wash the area when done. That stuff is nasty on finishes.

I will keep driving the small parts of the HOV lane that my BC still works with until I get pulled over or ass rammed by a 3500 Ram pulling a toy hauler that's overloaded at 100+ mph..
