Yeah I think the popularity of their 702hp Supercharged lifted pickup truck should have been the first hint.

The thing cost $120,000, got 10 mpg and they STILL sold like 30,000 per year.

No wonder they’re bringing the Hemi back and apparently they completely killed the all electric Ram REV while the range extender version keeps getting delayed.

The “people have spoken.”
And 50% of the people are ignorant in pushing fossil fuel vehicles. I drove my Mach-E 300 miles yesterday for 0 electric charge cost. I filled up at free Target charger before leaving, 1 mile from home, stopped for 20 minutes at free 50kw charge point charger there and back. And had 90miles remaining when home. Never went to a gas station and got free gas.

I ate free samples at the grocery store but that isn’t a solution for 3 meals a day for everyone.

People don’t need to “push fossil fuel vehicles.” People just still want and buy them because they fit their needs.

People buy cars for a few reasons- specific needs (size, amount of seats, family size, need to haul stuff or people etc) or desire (style, performance, luxury, comfort) and of course price.

Electric cars on the other hand seem to have a very vocal group trying to convince everyone else they should or have to buy them. Not always the best approach to change minds or influence people by calling half the population ignorant.

I get that people are passionate, it just gets intense sometimes. People could do more good just driving less.

The fossil fuel lovers do push their fake news regarding electric vehicles. I work for a city where the majority of employees have big gas/diesel guzzlers. We also use Ford Lightning work trucks. Most workers that started to use them complained. After using for a few months almost all were happy to use them. Originally they were believing the false information from fossil fuel bots given them over the years. Unlike most of the gas guzzlers that have never owned an electric vehicle, I have had gas and hybrid vehicles.

Is it fake news or just “news you dont like?”

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a truly fake/false story about EVs. Not saying they don’t or didn’t exist (internet is full on some real nonsense). But I’m just not seeing fake stories put out by some “pro fossil fuel” hidden agenda team.

They may get extra attention when one catches on fire or if they get into an accident or something. But that’s not fake.

I've never owned and very much doubt I ever will own a Dodge. But I gotta say I get the strong sense that Dodge owners just aren't likely EV customers...

(We do own a Fiat 500e, but in spite of being part of Stellantis, it ain't no Dodge🤣)
Well.. I own one Jeep at the moment, but out of the previous 5 vehicles, 3 were Dodge/Rams IIRC. Current Mopar vehicle is a Wrangler 4XE, which has been at the dealership for 3 weeks waiting for a new HVB to be installed.

They could have come up with a better name for the company. Every time I hear “Stellantis” I can’t help thinking of the old “Smiling Bob” commercials just because it sounds like that kind of product

Notice I didn’t say no Dodge owner would buy an EV. I said I don’t think they aren’t likely EV buyers. And while it’s possible that Dodge’s current offering just isn’t very compelling to enough buyers to support its MSRP, I think it is reasonable to think that my supposition is warranted.

I agree Charger is a great name for an EV, and Buick should bring back the Electra.

I still think Mach-E and Lightning are inspired EV names, too. Much better than Capri - maybe they should call it a Capr-ev?

How is that 500e? I could live this Mustang though😁

The 500e is a 2017, so it lacks reverse camera. But it is truly a great city car. The range is fine for the city, and it is truly fun to drive. I'm 6-ish feet tall and not exactly skinny (as in not skinny at all), but I'm quite comfortable in either the driver or (front) passenger seat. The car is easy for me to get in and out of. It's my wife's car, but I enjoy driving it too. It replaced her NA Miata and honestly I like the Fiat much better than the Miata. That was also a fun car, but it was too low to the ground and had much less storage, while still being a longer car than the Fiat. She still sometimes misses the Miata, but she loves the Fiat.

Yeah, they got quite a few of those 500 cars out on Carvana for like a very good price in low mileage. That’s why I was asking.

I guess that’s not bad less than 5000 miles?

We bought it from a friend. He needed an EV with a bit longer range. I will note that these 500es (as opposed to the new models) don't support DCFC, so they really can't practically be used for road tripping. That said, we charge the car using 120V and it does fine for city driving.

Ah, this is the newer model, so it will have more features, including DCFC support and a reverse camera. It may also have some ADAS features, though you'll need to look closely to see what's on the car. I've not looked at used prices for the newer cars, so I've no idea if this price is a good one. But at first glance it seems reasonable.
