Installation Experience
Installing the @REDTIGER F17 Plus was overall quite straightforward, though routing the wire from the rear camera to the front unit took some time and patience. I installed it together with two friends.
I used the hardwire kit, which was slightly confusing at first — especially determining where to connect the ACC and B+ wires — but using a multimeter helped identify the correct fuses for constant and switched power.
For reference, installation in a Ford Mustang Mach-E went smoothly overall. The cable lengths for both the rear camera and the hardwire kit were sufficient for the vehicle’s layout.
Build Quality & First Impressions
The dashcam itself looks great and feels solidly built. The touchscreen responds quickly and accurately, and the packaging was excellent. I appreciated that fuse plug extenders were included, which made the hardwiring easier. The only small drawback was that three-socket extenders weren’t included, but I was still able to connect everything using mini-3 plugs without issue.
Video Quality
After several days of driving, here’s how I’d rate the video performance for each camera:
The Sony STARVIS 2 sensor and WDR perform very well on the front camera — daytime footage is crisp and clear, and night footage retains good detail without excessive glare. On highways at night, license plates aren’t always readable, but city visibility is very good.
Interior IR performance is strong overall, though I did notice some reflections or blinking effects from other car accessories, and the driver’s face can appear overexposed at times.
The rear camera could use improvement, especially at night — you can mainly see the taillights of vehicles behind, but the road itself isn’t very visible.
Audio recording quality is excellent and captures voices clearly.
Parking Surveillance (ACC Hardwire Kit)
Installing and configuring the ACC hardware kit was a bit tricky. Initially, the dashcam reported that the ACC hardware wasn’t connected when entering parking mode settings.
After contacting customer service (who were very helpful), I learned that the constant power socket we used was interfering with the hardware detection. Switching to another constant power fuse solved the problem completely.
The hardwire kit includes an adjustable voltage cutoff, which works well — you can set the threshold to prevent the dashcam from draining the car battery when parked for long periods.
Ease of Use & App Experience
The touchscreen interface is simple and intuitive, and the mobile app is also easy to use.
Wi-Fi connection is stable, and file transfer speed is impressive — downloading a 300 MB video takes about 10 seconds.
Menus and playback controls are straightforward, making it easy to review footage or change settings.
Feature Requests
There are a few features I’d love to see added in future firmware updates:
Overall, the F17 Plus leaves a very positive impression.
With a few firmware updates and small refinements, the F17 Plus could easily become one of the best 4-channel dashcams in its class.

There are a few features I’d love to see added in future firmware updates:
- The option to disable interior cameras manually (for privacy when driving alone).
- A notification on startup to let the driver know if any parking surveillance events were recorded while parked.
Overall, the F17 Plus leaves a very positive impression.
- The design and build quality are solid.
- Video quality is excellent for the front and interior cameras, and good overall even in challenging lighting.
- The rear camera could perform better at night, but daytime results are fine.
- Installation, usability, and support all exceeded my expectations.
With a few firmware updates and small refinements, the F17 Plus could easily become one of the best 4-channel dashcams in its class.
Test Media
I’ve attached:
- Daytime and nighttime driving footage (including rural and low-light conditions)
- Installation photos showing cable routing and fuse connections (marked sockets included)
