New owner here, I tried searching for this but I couldn’t find any posts.

I need advice, when the car hits 100%, or whatever your max % is set to, do you unplug it/stop the charger? Or do you leave it connected all night?

I have a ChargePoint Home Flex as my charger. I want to do whatever is best for the battery, but also allows the car to pre-cool/heat when it’s time to leave.

Thoughts?

I believe the car will stop the charging in order to protect the battery when it reaches the programmed charge limit.

YES. Leaving it plugged in allows the car to precondition on grid power so that the battery stays at the selected charge level until you unplug and drive away.

Always leave it plugged in. A battery engineer at a major automaker shared the acronym ABC (Always BE Charging) which I believe is good advice. The BMS has plenty of intelligence to sending electrons to the batteries when they get to 100% and by staying plugged in as Timbop said the battery comfortably remains conditioned and any other items use grid power (climate etc.).

Or better yet, when it gets to 90%.

We've been charging batteries for 100 years. Sleep easy, they got this.

OP's question has been asked an answered. Sometimes it's better to teach someone to fish.

@69Mach390 @ChasingCoral I agree with both of you. I do try and search for posts before I add a new one, but sometimes I can’t find the right phrasing. Believe me, I have had dozens of questions answered by searching. I only create a new thread as a last resort. I just got my MME yesterday, so lots of questions have come up. Thank You both for your help!

I think many of the most frequent and helpful posters here will disagree with you on the search function but that's not surprising at this point.

I agree. Seems like every other thread is a comment “did you search for this first”. I see more of that than I do actual repeated topics lol.
